 1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before?
I went to San Diego for a work conference alone for the first time, I went to Savannah with Dan, I finished my first scrapbook, and tried to have a baby (we're still doing that!).

2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I dont really believe in those things, but I did make some strides in my effort to eat healthier....but no strides in the exercise dept!

3. Did anyone close to you give birth or get pregnant?
Lots of friends but no one in my immediate family! I'm the one who should give birth next...

4. Did anyone close to you get married?
Several friends! Hopefully several more next year - yeah LAURA and LAUREN!!!

5. Did anyone close to you die?
No, thankfully!

6. Travel?
I traveled to San Diego, Maryland, and Georgia. :)

7. Did you move anywhere?
Into our new home!!!!!!!

8. What was the best month?
Every month has had it's good times and less than good times. I think August when we found our home was awesome! This past month has been amazing, too.

9. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
Definitely a child, perhaps to take time off of work if I give birth before 2009.

10. What date(s) from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
My birthday, which was fun, and August 27, when we moved into the new house.

11. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Making strides towards getting my finances and credit in order.

12. What was your biggest failure?
Not getting my finances and credit in order sooner!

13. Did you suffer illness or injury?
No, thankfully.

14. What was the best thing you bought?
My iPhone I got for Christmas!

15. Whose behavior merited celebration?[info]My husband, mother, and Dans parents. All were wonderful and amazing this year.

16. Whose behavior made you appalled and/or depressed?
My father, as usual!

17. Where did most of your money go?
To the mortgage man, bills, debt, and various restaurants!

18. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
My new house!

19. What song will always remind you of 2007?
SexyBack - Justin Timberlake...dont ask my why! Just the most major song of 2007 for me.

20. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? So much happier.
ii. thinner or fatter? Hopefully slightly thinner.
iii. richer or poorer? Poorer - we bought a house, remember?!

21. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Spend more time with God, read the Bible, live more and worry less.

22. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Worrying, stressing, over-exerting myself.

23. How will you be spending New Year's Eve/Day?
With friends at a party/then to the Gator Bowl with Dan!

24. What was an unexpected surprise?
That making a baby is FUN and not really work. :) Also - that getting my dog was AMAZING and a wonderful idea.

25. Did you fall in love in 2007?
YES!

26. What was the best concert you've been to this year?
Don't think I went to one....how sad!

27. What was your favorite TV program?
Pushing Daisies/Grey's Anatomy/American Idol/Scrubs

28. Do you dislike anyone now that you didn't dislike this time last year?
Nah.

29. What was the best book you read?
The Lovely Bones, and The DaVnci Code

30. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Probably Sarah Bareilles - thanks to a Rhapsody commercial!

31. What did you want and get?
More time with my hubby.

32. What did you want and not get?
A better relationship with my dad.

33. What was your favorite film of this year?
I really enjoyed National Treasure, Harry Potter, the Pirates movie, 300, Ratatouille.

34. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
My husband took me to Savannah for the weekend for a romantic getaway!

35. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
My dad getting help and us having the relationship I always wanted.

36. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
I would consider myself preppie/casual.

37. What kept you sane?
My husband, church, my mother and family, and sleep!

38. What political issue stirred you the most?
The lack of concern for domestic issues by our current political leaders in Washington, the increasing gas prices, and the ridiculous education legislation passed by the state and national governments. No wonder our kids are so ignorant of real world problems when all we do is focus on testing, testing, testing!

39. Who did you miss?
my cousin. He is in Iraq right now.

40. Who was the best new person you met?
My friends at church!

41. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007:
That life is worth living instead of worrying about what might or might not happen. Take each day as it comes. Laugh a lot. Dont give a crap about what others think. Think for yourself. You cannot control other people's behavior so stop trying. Take care of yourself as much as you do others. Just do it.

MEME about my hubby, Dan

 Where did you meet?: We met in April 2004 at a friends wedding. He was a singer/guitar player for the event and I was a bridesmaid/singer! We spent the whole weekend together! :)

Was it love at first sight?: Not love, but we definitely had chemistry and the lust thing going!

Were you friends first?: Nah we started dating right away. With it being a long distance thing, no time for beating around the bush!

Who asked who on the first date?: We didnt really have any of that. We sorta just started dating and went on from there. Our first big thing was when he came to see me graduate from college three weeks after we met! We had a lot of "dates" over the phone.

How long did you date?: We dated for 5 monhts before we became engaged, and were then engaged for 7 months before we got married!

How was the first kiss?: It was the most AMAZING experience of my life!! Totally hot.

How long before he said the "L" word?: I think we kinda told each other, although dan claims I said it first. It happened when I was in Europe for a two week tour during the summer. About a month after we met. :) We move fast!

How was the first um, 'meeting of the souls'?: Perfect for the first time! :) Of course, I had no idea what to do but we had fun anyhow. :)

Did you wait till your wedding night?: We certainly did! That is the best way to go, my friends! No regrets there! :)

How long have you been married?: 3 years as of April 2, 2005! :-D

When is your anniversary?: April 2, 2005. 

Do you still kiss (Enjoy it?): Absolutely! As much as we can!

Do you still do the deed?: You better believe it! ;-) Esp. since we're making a baby now!

Do you love your in-laws?: My in-laws are the BEST!

Does he love yours?: He adores them. He doesnt get along with my dad but loves my mom to bits.

Who has control in this relationship?: UMMM - no one really. We follow the biblical model, but we're also big on being a team. We do everything together. No one person over the other! :) I'm a non-traditional kind of gal!

What does he do that annoys you the most?: Totally messy and smokes. ICK. 

Is he a changed man since the marriage?: We have balanced each others personalities out a lot. We've also grown up and matured which has helped!

Are you still friends?: He is certainly my closest best friend in the WHOLE world. No one knows me better except God himself!

Do you still love each other as much as the day you married?: We definitely love each other more. Once you get out of the "gagaga" honeymoon phase, its kinda scary cause you dont know anything else. But now I realize how deep our love is and how much MORE in love I am with him than I was when we met or when we married. The love grows and changes as you grow together.

How long do you plan on staying married to this man?: Until death parts us. That's the only option. Unless he goes all crazy on me, cheats or tries to kill me! Which I doubt will happen. :)

Do you have children yet? What are their names and ages?: We have none yet!

Are you going to have more children? How many?: We want 2 or 3. Planning on trying to HAVE two and ADOPT one. :)

Their names?: We like Emma Kay, Ava Leigh, Caleb Michael. :)

Is he going to help change the diapers?: I'm certain he will. If not, he will experience my wrath! :)

My husband and I make plenty of money. Yet we have none. Ever. My bank account is empty again. All my money goes to bills or paying off debt. I feel so poor. And I am sick of it!!!!!!

I keep on tithing. I keep on not spending. And yet we're still broke. No matter how you spin it.

I hate money. And I hate not being able to pay my bills on time because I have to wait to get paid.

GAG.

At this rate, we'll never have a high credit rating.

PLEASE PRAY!!!

PLEASE PRAY for Dan at 10:30 am this morning. He has a big interview and really wants the job. Pray for peace and God's words to flow through him. He is nervous and is afraid he'll mess up the interview!

I'd appreciate it so much. :)

Yada, Yada, Yada

We went to life group last night and it was nice. But do you ever get the feeling that some people don't like you??

For example...there is one girl in my life group and she is the leader per se. I think she doesn't like me cause I had to bail on making food for someone last minute. I don't have a kitchen staffed for cooking or a phone at home to call. Plus, I've never actually met the people I was cooking for, so that was awkward. I guess with everything going on I was just stressed out. Oh well! I just think somehow I disappointed her and she doesn't like me very much.

But the more I read of, "The Search for Significance," the more I realize that it might be my insecurities and less about whether she likes me or not. Thankfully, though, we are changing the format of life group and it will be less "formal" and more about getting to know each other and about lifting each other up in prayer.

I feel called to be more involved but don't know how. And somehow I feel like we're "less important" than other couples in the group. I'm still dealing with that insecurity. Dan said he feels the same way. I think it's because we both haven't been in so long (due to work and grad school) that we feel disconnected and left out. Satan is good at making me feel isolated. It's an issue I have dealt with for some time.

Please continue to lift Dan up in prayer about the job situation. He has SEVERAL things in the works but needs something quickly!!

Thankful

Dan is going to look for a job today. He has the day off from his current job where he put in two weeks notice yesterday. Apparently he thinks his district manager won't honor the two weeks. We'll see!

Still no internet. Not for another week. How sad!

I am super busy with school and tired and want a nap. :) Grad school starts this week! Joy. 

I need to remember to count my blessings no matter what. I need to get better and doing that!
